Williamsburg Knows How to Have A Good Time

Last night I was back in Williamsburg and it wasn't for some Thursday night Cholent (that's my husband anyways)...I sang for a big group of women who participated in the Mitzvah of Hachnasas Kallah and were treated to a fun night out of ice cream, popcorn and a little bit of Chanale. Personally, I was under the weather, congested and weary but every ounce of fatigue disappeared when I stood up and saw the women's gleaming faces. Such an eager, excited crowd, they absolutely wouldn't let me leave until they (barely) had their fill. I left rejuvenated, with a few new friends to boot. Hope to see you girls again soon, Chaya, Toby, Feigy, Tzurty, and all my new gal pals, it was good to see you again! Here are some pics

A Night Out With The Girls (and my daughter's Morah!)

I sang last night for the post-sem girls out on Shlichus all over the world. The energy was fantastic, the mood was fun,fun, fun and the noise level was staggering. But we sang, and laughed and just breezed through songs one after the other, everyone singing full chorus. Thank you for a great night out that didn't include a flight or long car drive. My favorite shows are the ones right next door. Crown Heights in the HOUSE!

" I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your performance on Wednesday (The Continental - in Williamsburg). I'd never heard you sing before, but after that performance I bought one of your albums and I hadn't stopped listening to it since (except of course when my kids want to hear their childrens' tapes - you know how you said that kids tend to "take over" every part of one's life... lol). I already learned the words to "My Business" by heart and the more I sing it, the more I believe it.

A Monsey Moment

So Monsey was on my radar last night, as I headed out there for a long overdue concert. Rachel Ravitz http://rachelravitz.com/ and Shoshana Bander 'united in song' with me for a leibidig, full house made up of a combination of yeshivish, chasidish and lubavitch gals of all ages. I had the adorable Udi join me on stage for 'Siste, Sister' and then the entire 5th grade of the Lubavitch Cheder up on the stage for 'Run Run Runaway'. After that we ran through a buncha favorites ending the night with an acoustic "LeShana Haba BiYirushalayim". What a night! I had my new groupies make it after seeing me Wednesday in Williamsburg; they brought the whole clan this time and were so super excited about the show. I love those girls, just so happy and enthusiastic about it all. Thank you Bracha Michaninov for pulling it all together and to Shimona for your MCing. Monsey, it was great to see you, my old and new friends! I should be getting a chock of photos from Bracha so I'll post them all shortly. Here are a few from my camera. P.S. I sang "Taking Over My Heart" a song from the new album due out Purim time and it was love at first note....I hope you're ready.... Shout out to my#1 fan Tzurty and to Estie and Faygie, and Naama and Miriam. It was so nice to see you all!!

A Little Warmth in the Storm....

Just (barely) got back from Cleveland thanks to the Mesiras Nefesh of a very capable driver who literally put his life on the line to get me to the airport. GOD BLESS YOU. For this trip I got me a new carry-on, remembered to take cds to sell and had my backup ipods all charged. I did however forget my CAMERA, and will be relying on the kindness of strangers AKA my new Cleveland friends to put together this post. So far this is all I got, thanks to Malka and Lory....I'll post more about it later in the day;it's almost seven and I gotta put up some oatmeal for the kiddies. Very normal life going on here,,,

I've been down to Ohio a few times; years ago I sang in Dayton for Fayga's cousin's Bas Mitzvah party, and then there's the annual Friendship Circle Counselor party in Cleveland. But Fayga Mangel's Bas Mitzvah up in Cincinnati was as unique and memorable as she is. Firstly my mother is Fayga so I feel a strong connection to this beautiful name. I totally appreciated the musical bird centerpieces.

Then there was the face that this was an ALL DESERT PARTY. Yup you heard me. Cake all the way, first course, second course and well, for desert. Lastly, was the delivery and content of the Bas Mitzvah speech! Witty, smart and confident, both mom and daughter were as comfortable in front of the mike as I was! We attempted a sit-down concert but ended up dancing non-stop for well over and hour. I took a couple shots from where I was standing to give you all an idea what kinda Simcha was goin' down in Ohio yesterday. Mazal Tov Fayga and thanks a bunch for having me at your party. It was terrific meeting your many adorable friends and cousins!
